It’s taken me a bit of a while to write this post partly because I’ve had a lot on in the last week or so but also partly because I’m struggling a little with what to write and the repetitiveness of these posts, despite the January temperature colours being probably the most varied of this whole blanket if, that is, you count the time in the UK in August/September.

It’s been a surprisingly pleasant month and the drop in temperatures for a few days was a welcome respite from the pink relentlessness. Despite that it really does look like the January temperature here was far warmer generally than it’s supposed to be, which is concerning.

There should originally have been a little blue hereabouts, as I was planning to go home in January but the Covid situation and the end of the Brexit transition period made me think that I’d better not impose an added burden on my country.

It was a pleasant month, nonetheless with some lovely clear, sunny days and one where I felt glad to be able to switch off the air conditioning for at least a few nights.
