I wasn’t quite as neurotic with December’s block as with the previous month. I knew exactly what I was going to do and, as luck would have it, the very last day of December came forward with a cold enough temperature to present me with a Sea Foam Christmas tree. The pot had to be orange for the one day in the month, between Christmas and New Year, where temperatures soared to the high 20s.

I’ve cheated a little elsewhere, however. By rights the background should be pink rather than yellow, because there were possibly more pink days than yellow days. But there really wasn’t much in it and aren’t we all tired of pink now?

This is the first time I’ve tried proper intarsia crochet. I’ve baulked at it before in both knitting and crochet but this is easy as long as you remember to make sure that the yarn ends are always on the wrong side and that you untangle your yarns periodically. The pattern I’ve used here is 25 Tannenbaum from 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton.

Now all I have to do is join all of the blocks together.
