Though I’m now quite used to @Tinnahekl’s mosaic crochet technique, I prevaricated for ages before tackling this square. No idea why but my hesitation is why I’m only writing this in December. I find the flatter design of Tulip crochet hooks the best for this technique and I had to wait until my order from @TribeYarns arrived but that’s the only excuse I have really. Maybe the Terrazzo pattern looked more complicated than the Havana blanket. In the end it wasn’t and there’s a moral in that.
Finally one afternoon I just went for it and I needn’t have worried that it wouldn’t work out well. I don’t know what happened with the slight wonky centre, though. Maybe I miscounted a stitch which is always likely when your work is still small. I thought it might resolve itself in the blocking process. It didn’t but that’s OK. I like to think it’s another metaphor for how things have gone awry this year. You’ll notice that the September colours are the same as August’s. It was a hot September.
