I have four WiP knitting and crochet projects; three lots of learning for choirs including one major work; three blog posts to write. And yet I have started this new project. Why?

It’s @tinnahekl’s Havana blanket, my first major work of mosaic crochet. I’m using Manos Del Uruguay Maxima Fairtrade extra fine Merino in shades Pewter, Slate, Peach Melba, Grapevine and Marie Antoinette, with a 5mm Tulip crochet hook, and cocoknits stitch markers, all from Tribeyarns.com.  When I think of how this yarn was kettledyed in small quantities by rural women in cooperatives across Uruguay then shipped to South West London and then on to me in Beckenham and Hong Kong, well it’s quite a thought, isn’t it?

The carbon footprint is a problem, but it’s at least good to support small businesses. And this is now one of those blog posts done.
