By the end of June, I felt in need of more of a challenge for my “ordinary” granny squares.  This floral number came from from Design by Phanessa.

Although I enjoyed the challenge of May’s mosaic crochet square and was busy launching myself down into the rabbit hole of different crochet techniques and challenges, I thought that too many consecutive technical marvels seemed like overkill, so this granny with a floral twist appealed immediately for the June square. 

As usual, the worrying took up more time and headspace than the actual square.

June in Hong Kong was hotter than it’s been in most previous years and it took a while to get used to having the air conditioning on high all night and the subsequent noise and rattle with very little output which was due to it needing to be cleaned.
