February block

I’m known far and wide for being a romantic fool, of course, so this St Valentine’s month’s block incorporated an appliqué heart from HookedbyRobin whose helpful YouTube tutorials I viewed again and again to understand how to do it.

I confess that the first time I incorporated this  heart in a granny square, it became distorted and not like a heart shape at all, more like a real heart. Broken. And, for some reason I just couldn’t work out why the granny square surround looked all wrong. The finally just a couple of weeks ago I worked out that I’d crocheted the heart attachments from the wrong side, which is why they went a bit Through The Looking Glass. It only took an hour or so to redo it completely, and reshapethe heart a bit and now it looks much better. I’m talking about the crochet as well as the life.
