Visiting the floating village of Chong Kneas on the Tonle Sap lake today was a humbling experience. There will be more about this on this blog presently. Here we were travelling the world yet this dirt poor community is the whole world for these people, who have no access to the internet to read or learn; no professional healthcare; no secondary education. Pregnancy is a life-threatening condition, where girls marry others from their floating village at 14, have four or five children and then die early. There is no access to contraception. The water you see is the only sanitation and also the source of 80% of their drinking water. The world seems to have forgotten them.
Can’t “like” this. Nor was I aware of this community. Look forward to hearing more.
