This is the reality of life with children. I’ve heard that girls are worse than boys. I wouldn’t want to generalise but this is certainly the case in my house.
Here is what was under the spare room, which Eliza has been occupying while painting her own. In effect, she’s trashed both rooms. This is the umpteenth time I’ve done this and I was only looking for the vacuum cleaner brush, which she seems to have lost and which I’ll now have to replace.
There’s hundreds of pounds worth of stuff here, clean, new sixth form clothes trashed and mixed with coffee cups, forks, dirty washing, clean sheets. I’m going to put it all in bin bags and it will go in the dustbin if it’s not put away in the next couple of days.
On the evidence of this photo, yes, girls are worse than boys. On the other hand, I was always too much of a control freak to let my boys’ rooms get to this stage.
It’s happened so many times. As soon as it’s tidy she makes another mess. And I am so tired of tidying up other people’s messes.
