Sensationail – a review

Perhaps it’s got something to do with biting my nails for decades in the forlorn hope that they would be beautifully-shaped and gorgeously polish-ready like those women I saw on the television and around me, but I have fairly weak nails. They seem in good condition most of the time but in their natural state they break and chip really easily and I can never get them all to a reasonable length before they start splitting and breaking one by one until I am left with a malsoigné mess. Nor have I ever been good at manicuring. I can...

Another day, another ballet

This time it was a quadruple bill at the Royal Opera House, a compare and contrast programme full of delightful moments. How I love ballet, the pinnacle of human effort and strength and hard work and control. And it’s so beautiful. The first in the programme was Viscera, a minimalist, plotless ballet with barely-there costumes that showed off the dancers’ honed limbs and total control. I was lucky enough to be invited to the fabulous wedding of @emproji and @lukephilosophy last weekend. Agonising about what to wear, I came across this gorgeous dress from Bombshell. Even better news: they had my size and it was reduced! It would have been rude not to!

I know these doors are supposed to be the ultimate in high security but I despise them

I know these doors are supposed to be the ultimate in high security but I despise them. I mean look how ugly they are! White UPVC, no definite sense of style nor era and the opening is both tiny and a trip hazard. How on earth are you supposed to… [more]

Excellent long read article.
