Virtually nothing was done on the kitchen today, or so it would seem. I am gnashing my teeth with frustration. Apparently we are waiting for the granite worktops to arrive and nothing else can be done until they are installed. (By the way: I take a dim view of the use of “waiting on” to mean “waiting for.” Surely waiting on is done by servants or people who work in restaurants?)
Now, I knew this but I had been told that the outside paving would be finished today. When it is finished it can be sealed and grouted, you see. Also that the ceilings would be given their final coat of paint ready for the Sonos system to be installed but that has not happened either. I am chomping at the bit.
We are in transition:
After yesterday’s bedroom conversation, the Boywonder took matters into his own hands today and moved his stuff into MsDD’s room, unearthing a few more horrors as he moved her stuff into his room.
It looked smaller when it was MsDD’s room. Goodness knows what she’ll say when she returns from her latest little trip.
I know it’s not finished yet but I want to move in.
We can use the coffee machine though. Red for Caffeinated beans; green for decaffeinated.
My cousin Vivien sent me this pair of olive bushes to mark my 50th birthday. I was worried that they’d die before the patio was finished so I potted them up today. Of course, I didn’t buy enough compost.
The patio is unsealed and ungrouted; the olive pots need more compost; the kitchen still has a couple of weeks’ work to do but Raffles has found his place.
But where does Oscar belong in all this? Latent tension.
